Christmas Vacation Part 4: The Wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Harry Potter... What more need I say about our next day on our vacation?! One of the main reasons we decided to go to Florida instead of California was so we could go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Ever since I heard about it, all I've wanted to do was visit it. Definitely a major bucket list item... and I got to cross it off!

We drove to Universal Studios and arrived as they were opening the gates for parking. We ran through the whole park and went straight back to the part that was all Harry Potter! Walking through the gates that marked Hogsmeade was surreal! I couldn't believe it! I was seriously so so happy!

I tried to soak it all in as we rushed toward the castle. The line gets long fast and we didn't want to have to wait for an hour. For being as fast as we were, the line was already surprisingly long. Everyone else had the same idea as us. It was all good though. We walked through the line happily and enjoyed the ambiance. Half of the line was through the castle and I was quite impressed with their replication.

We finally made it to the ride and it was AMAZING! Flying with Harry all over Hogwarts was everything I wanted it to be. It was a blast! We finished the ride and headed for the other good rides in the park. We got to do both dragon coasters and then spent some time enjoying the atmosphere.

Butterbeer was delicious! The stores were super magical! I loved everything about it!

Then we decided to head to other parts of the park in Universal like the Jurassic Park,  Toon Lagoon, and Marvel Superhero Island. We enjoyed some wet rides.... we seriously got soaked! It was ridiculously funny how wet we got. Then we did some sweet coasters. I'm really glad those kind of things don't make me sick...

In the late afternoon it started pouring rain. We were so wet already we didn't run for cover like everyone else... until it started raining even harder and we decided maybe some cover would be nice. Nathan and I sought refuge in the castle at Harry Potter Land while looking for souvenirs. Some people were a little grumpy and rude in the tight corridors, but such is life.

The rain let up for a second and then started pouring again. We all decided we were a little tired of being wet and felt like we had experienced everything we wanted to. As we excited the amusement park we were greeted with sunshine and a breathtaking rainbow.

The rest of the day was relaxing. Some hot tubing, clean dry clothes, and Downtown Disney. We ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and got delicious ice cream!

  1. Mostly I'm interested in if you got to see Hermione or not. I trust Nathan will answer that question privately at a later time.
