Apparently Nathan and I were extremely tired because we slept through our alarm and Bryan and Lauren getting ready for the day. By the time we got out of bed they had already been up and gone for an hour partying at Epcot without us. We quickly got ready and headed their way.
I was really excited to go and experience a new park. New sites, new rides, new memories! Whenever I think of Disneyworld I always think of the "big golf ball" at Epcot and I was going to go see it in person that morning. I also could not wait to experience all of the countries! Germany was calling my name!
We met up and got fast passes for the Test Track. The return time was already for 9 that night. Crazy! Then we headed over to the big golf ball, or actually known as, "Spaceship Earth". It was not what I was expecting it to be, but I liked it. It took us through time and how communication and technology has changed. It was pretty fun and it made an interesting story for our future. We did a couple of other fun rides like Soaring. While we were waiting in the horrible line... It was the longest line of our whole trip. Over an hour and a half.... we got to play some sweet games up on a screen. Our whole section had to work together to fly through a amaze, or through boulders onto the other sections screen. It was really funny and we totally got first place. We also took a boat ride touring the gardens.
Next it was time to walk around the World Showcase. I was looking forward to experiencing each country, but really I was just dying to get right over to the German part! I wanted German food, and German accents, and lederhosen and dirndls!
Each little section for the different countries was beautiful! The details were amazing. It really made me feel like we were visiting each country. We walked through Mexico, Norway, and China first. Norway was fun because it had a boat ride with a surprise drop. And then there it was.... GERMANY!!!!
Bryan and Lauren were really good sports and put up with my craziness while there. We were definitely in that country the longest! Nathan let me look at everything and was even going to let me get a super nice German made Cuckoo Clock! After I got off my German high, I realized it would be too hard to get home, and was too expensive for our souvenir tastes.
It took me a while, but eventually I was willing to move on to the other countries. We were starting to get hungry and I decided I needed to have myself the best food possible. That's right, I went straight back to Germany and got myself a Brawt and some German potato salad. The others all went for the American food. BORING! I was so happy eating my lunch at Epcot.
We went through the other countries much quicker. I felt kind of bad for using so much of our time in Germany, but I was so happy there. It felt like home! We stopped for some ice cream in France, enjoyed a phone booth in England, and then headed over to Mission Space before our fast passes for Test Track.
We got a little distracted along the way and ended up taking pictures with some of our favorite characters! Then we were back on track and headed for the rides. Both rides were awesome! I was nervous for Mission Space because it kept saying to not ride it if you get sick easily, and had signs everywhere basically saying "Turn back now! This is your last chance!" It was great though! It was a virtual ride that really makes you feel like you are on a space mission! Test Track was cool as well. It gets up to 60 mph in about 2 seconds!
After those rides we headed back to the World Showcase to find a good spot for the firework show, "Illuminations". By the way have I mentioned how awesome everything was during the Christmas season?!?! The countries had things out showing their traditions, bands and choirs were always out performing Christmas music, and everything was 10 times more magical with the Christmas spirit!
The firework show was spectacular! And when we left for the night they projected "Good night" in all of the different languages up on the iconic ball. It was a perfect way to end the day.
