Pregnancy: Weeks 36-37

36 Weeks: Baby is about the size of a honeydew melon! At my doctor appointment everything looked great. Baby is measuring at about 6 pounds and is looking ready to go. My body is already dilated to 2 cm and is 70% effaced. The doctor said if I go into labor early everything will be fine. Baby is ready to come whenever. Yay!

Weird pregnancy problems this week. At night my hands get swollen and all of my joints in my hand and wrist hurt. It's so weird how pregnancy effects everything in your body. I also experienced my first swelling of my ankles. I looked down one day and my ankle had disappeared. It wasn't super swollen, but it was definitely a new experience not seeing my boney ankles. I've noticed this only happens when I stand or cross my legs for too long.

37 Weeks: Same symptoms as last week. Nathan and I have been enjoying walks outside with the nicer weather. He's been really good to go slower with me and stop when I have a super tight braxton hick contraction or pelvic pressure. (We even played some catch the other day. My first couple of throws were awkward... But I got the hang of it.)

This week I also had my Blietschau family/neighborhood shower. It was so fun to see everyone and my family did a great job. My sister, Karissa, made a cute game where everyone had to guess mine and Nathan's baby information. Everything was perfect and Nathan and I can't believe how much love and support we've received! This little boy sure has been given a lot of love.

My mom was so good at taking pictures of everyone! Thanks Mom!

I'm finally at the stage where I go in every week to the doctor. I love hearing our little boy's heart beat! He's measuring right on schedule and weighs around 7 pounds. I'm still dilated at 2 cm and now 80% effaced. The doctor also said she could feel the sack/baby's head when she was checking me... Oh boy!

At the end of this week my feet were super swollen. They didn't even look like my feet anymore! My super awesome friends, Jenny and Christeen, massaged them for me and made them feel a lot better. I was kind of embarrassed to have them touch my puffy feet though... Seriously they were pretty bad.
