39 Weeks: I made it full term! It's been a good week so far. I'm all done with work (which is the weirdest feeling ever) and I already miss teaching! The school gave me a little shower on my last day and stocked us up with books! It was really sad saying goodbye to my amazing 6th grade team and 6th graders. I can't wait to go in and visit them after this little boy comes. (By the way, my team is so cool, they had the 6th graders FaceTime me today to wish me a happy birthday! So fun!)
I've been able to get a lot done this week. Clean the house, wash the baby stuff, sleep in (which has been nice because sleeping at night has been really hard), lunch with my sister, relax. Seriously it's been quite nice not having any obligations.
Some friends in our ward gave me a little shower this week and had people bring freezer meals. BRILLIANT idea! We are basically set on baby's needs, so it was nice to receive some extra help with food.
I keep hoping our baby is coming soon. I've been having cramps, lower back pain, pelvic and vaginal pain (sorry if that's TMI... but I want to remember my pregnancy), and contractions that wake me up at night. But still no baby. It's getting close though I can feel it! (I will die if this baby goes a week past his due date!)
I had a doctor's appointment today (on my birthday) and everything looks amazing! I'm dilated to 3 cm and 90% effaced. When she was checking me (and stripping my membranes.... not so fun....) she said she could feel the water sack bulging and that she had to be careful not to break my water. (Though I honestly wouldn't have minded.) She also said she would be shocked if I make it to my due date, and that if I went into labor in the middle of the night it was her week to be on call so she would still be the one delivering the baby.
Baby boy looks healthy and strong and probably weighs about 8 pounds according to the measurements. Now we just need him to decide to come. You can do it little guy! We are so excited to meet you!
