My friend, Nicole, had a baby in January and it was the perfect opportunity for me to work on my goal. I asked what the baby room was going to look like and she said they were just planning on do all the fun bright colors for the rainbow. This is what I ended up making! And they even used it for newborn pictures that turned out so cute! (I felt pretty cool having my blanket used as a prop!)

I wanted to learn how to crochet, so my friend Rebecca taught me everything I needed to know! She is amazing! (Thanks again for being so willing to teach me Rebecca!) I started with something little. I've always wanted one of those cute headband ear warmers, but never wanted to spend $15 to $20 on one. It ended up being super easy to make, and I gave it to Nathan's sister, Carly, for her mission. (It gets cold in Minnesota!)
To keep practicing my new crochet skills I made a baby blanket to give to my friend, Karly. She's going to have her baby girl in August! (So exciting!)
They painted the baby room with chevron strips and it gave me an idea. (Here's her post on their wall so you can see it: Chevron Wall ) So I took the accent colors they chose and came up with this. I love how it turned out! It took some patience... (Especially when I accidentally sewed the fabric in the wrong order making the batting end up on the outside of the quilt... lots of unpicking happened.) But it was worth it!

Seriously Nicole you have turned into super woman! All star runner, master chef, and crafting queen! SO cute!!
