Spud Days and Big Spring

With summer ending I feel like we haven't done as many exciting things lately, so last weekend we made up for it.

We had a jam packed day with the Leavitts last Saturday. First we went to Shelly Spud Days. It was fun to walk around and see everything that was going on, and to get some delicious food. Hurray for free baked potatoes! Then Karly and I had a cute baby shower to go to while the boys stayed home and watched some football.

Later that night it was our stakes Harvest Fest. There was quite a bit to see and taste. Cute little animals and quilts! Homemade breads and jams! Salsa contest! (There was this amazing strawberry salsa! I am going to try and find a recipe and make one sometime soon.) All things zucchini! I don't even know why they provided dinner as well... I was stuffed to the maximum.

After Harvest Fest we had the opportunity to join in on a Missionary discussion with a young couple. It was cool to be a part of that missionary experience and feel the spirit. The Church is true!

On Sunday, Nathan and I took a drive up to Island Park to Big Springs. It was a beautiful day! The water was so clear and clean, and the air was crisp and cool. We walked around on the trail and soaked in all of the beauty. It was really neat to see the water bubbling up from the ground at the spring.

We'll have to go up again sometime really soon to see all of the leaves changing colors!
