At Stockton's 2 week appointment he weighed 7 lbs 8 oz (18%) so we got him back up to his birth weight. Still 20 inches long (24%) and his head circumference was 36 cm (57%). Everything looked great and I was happy to say that he was mostly getting breastmilk from me and a little supplementing with formula.
Around 2 weeks we also bought a chair for the nursery and it was a game changer! It was nice to have a comfy quiet place to feed Stockton (or pump) and not disturb Nathan in the middle of the night. It also made rocking Stockton back to sleep so much better. Before I was standing to rock him to sleep and I was getting tired.
We had our friends the Leavitts and Wetherells come visit us from Idaho Falls. It was fun to have them meet Stockton. It also got me out of the house more, getting food and such, which was a nice change.
Stockton got to celebrate his first Easter a couple of weeks after his birth. My mom found him the cutest outfit to wear. I told her I wanted something cute and simple that was either blue, or green, or yellow, and she went around checking tons of stores to find him the perfect shirt!
The day after Easter, March 28, Stockton's cord fell off and we could finally see his cute belly button!
On April 6th Stockton and I had our first big adventure on our own to my elementary school for 6th grade class pictures. (Before we didn't get out of the house unless we had Nathan to help and they were usually dates to the grocery store or Target. I loved our little outings.) It was so fun to see everyone again and show of my cute boy. The students were so sweet and loved him so much!
This whole first month I had been trying to get Stockton to nurse, but we both had no idea what we were doing and he was already pretty attached to the bottle. Lots of friends and family were super helpful answering my nursing and pumping questions. Everyone cheered me on (and cheered me up) when I needed it. And on April 7, with some help from my awesome friend Jenny, we were able to get Stockton to latch on and nurse for the first time ever! Success! I was so surprised and happy.
It has been so rewarding to watch my little boy grow up so much within this first month. Here is a list of his favorite things and milestones from this month:
